Land grab case: Sooraj interrogated

June 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - KOCHI:

CBI sleuths interrogated former Public Works Secretary T.O. Sooraj for over five hours on Friday in connection with the controversial Kalamassery land grab case, allegedly involving relatives of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s former gunman Salim Raj.

The interrogation comes close on the heels of the recent arrest of three revenue officials who had reportedly revealed that a false report made out by higher officials in the Revenue Department had led to the manipulation in the document pertaining to land owned by Sheriffa, a resident of Pathadypalam near Kalamassery and victim of the land grab.

The CBI decided to quiz Mr. Sooraj as the land grab had been found to have taken place during his stint as Land Revenue Commissioner.
