Kumbabishekam performed

A large number of devotees offered worship at Sri Vedanayaki – Sri Santhanathaswamy temple and witnessed the maha kumbabhishekam on Friday.

Sivachariars poured the holy waters on the ‘kalasams’ at about 8 a.m. marking the maha kumbabhishekam. The ritual was performed simultaneously for the vimanams on the rajagopuram, and atop the shrines of Sri Vedanayaki, Sri Santhanathaswamy, Sri Ariyanachi Amman, and Sri Anjaneya besides other deities.

Earlier, the sixth kaala pujai was performed at about 5 a.m. and purnahuti and maha deeparadanai was performed at about 7 a.m.

The maha abhishekam was performed at around noon; tirukalyanam in the evening. The processional idols were taken out in the evening.
