When a TNSTC bus was going from Tirunelveli to Tenkasi via Mukkoodal and Kadayam, it came under attack even as it was crossing Sengulam near Pappakudi on Sunday night. Bus driver N. Kasi Viswanathan (32) of Melagaram near Tenkasi suffered bleeding injuries as glass pieces pierced his forehead and face.

Pappakudi police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, the relatives of Kittappa refused to accept the body, demanding Rs. 20 lakh as compensation to his family and a ‘government job’ to his wife. Even after Deputy Inspector General of Police (Tirunelveli Range) S. Murugan held talks with a few relatives of the rowdy, they refused to accept the body.
