DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Wednesday visited the flood affected areas in Chennai and distributed relief materials to the victims. The DMK headquarters had received loads of relief materials after Mr. Karunanidhi earlier appealed to partymen and the public to contribute towards flood relief.

The DMK leader, accompanied by former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran and party MLA J. Anbazhagan, first visited Chintadripet and distributed relief materials. Later he went to Saidapet and inspected the bridge that overflowed a week ago and distributed relief materials. His next point was Kotturpuram, one of the worst affected areas of South Chennai. Meanwhile, the PMK organised health camps in flood-affected areas and party MP Anbumani Ramadoss treated patients in the camps, a press release said.
