Kalam’s treasures

In a separate development, the house of Kalam located at No. 10, Rajaji Marg, New Delhi, was vacated on Wednesday.

Besides thousands of books, the former President had a veena, copies of his speeches delivered over the years and a tape recorder in his room.

The house was vacated since there was no reply from the Centre on the petition of Kalam’s family that the house be declared as ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Centre for Knowledge Discovery’.

“The books and some articles were sent to his family in Rameswaram. The contribution of Kalam to the nation, including his speeches, can be accessed in the official websitewww.abdulkalam.com,” Mr. Ponraj said.
