Jayalalithaa opens health care facilities in Thanjavur district

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa declared open additional health care delivery facilities readied at a cost of Rs. 8.90 crore in various parts of the Thanjavur district through video conferencing from Chennai on Monday.

Primary Health Centres at Murugankudi near Tiruvidaimarudur and Kabisthalam near Papanasam have been upgraded at a cost of Rs. 1.05 crore each and provided with additional facilities, including 30 beds, operation theatre, blood donation facility, x-ray unit, dental, and neo natal care units.

The Chief Minister declared open new buildings at the Kumbakonam Government Hospital to house 120 beds, two operation theatres, drug warehouse, all completed at a cost of Rs. 4.75 crore besides declaring open a 12-bed labour ward at the Pattukkottai Government Hospital and intensive neo natal care unit built at a cost of Rs. 1.46 crore.

Following the inaugural, elected representatives and officials including Mayiladuthurai MP R.K. Bharathi Mohan, MLAs M. Rengasamy (Thanjavur), M. Rethinasamy (Tiruvaiyaru), and R. Duraikannu (Papanasam), Kumbakonam Municipal Chairperson Rathna Sekar, and the former MLA Rama Ramanathan distributed sweets to the public.
