Accusing the AIADMK government of not being concerned about people’s problems, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Monday alleged that nothing concrete had come out of the slew of announcements made by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa under Rule 110 in the Assembly.

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was unable to understand issues confronting the people and the problems faced by them, Mr. Stalin said. He was speaking at a roadside meeting at Karur on his second leg of “Namakku Naame” campaign.

Mr. Stalin commenced his tour in the district from Noyyal village interacting with farmers and general public besides meeting the cane growers and women self-help group members at Maravapalayam and Uppidamangalam respectively. He interacted with traders and farm labourers en route Karur in the evening.

Brushing aside criticism on his “Namakku Naame” tour, Mr. Stalin said that parties criticising him did not have the guts to meet the public. The parties were passing comments on his tour unable to digest the popularity of the mission, he said.

The Namakku Naame campaign had been launched by the DMK to ascertain the grievances and problems faced by the people, he said claiming that he drew a huge response from the public wherever he went.

He urged the State government to come out with a white paper on the actual investments that had come through following the Global Investors’ Meet held recently. The AIADMK government had held the meet four-and-a-half years after coming to power only to deceive the people, he said.

Mr. Stalin had an interaction with prominent personalities of Karur district later in the evening.
