The Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Periyar University, on Friday organised an interaction programme on Department of Science and Technology schemes for researchers’ at the university.
R. Brakaspathy, Advisor and Scientist G, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, in his key note address explained the various schemes sponsored by his Department and their importance.
He interacted with the students on the present and future opportunities of DST schemes available for pursuing research in the field of Science and Technology.
C. Swaminathan, Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University, in his presidential address spoke on the DST schemes such as Ramanujar Scholarship; J.C. Bos National Scholarship; IRHPA; ITS, USERS, TRACK based research funding; Start-up Research Grant and Women Scientists Fellowship etc and urged the young research scholars to take full advantage of them.
P.M. Anbarasan, Coordinator, Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Periyar University, explained the objectives of the programme.
More than 150 students and teachers from the engineering colleges and arts and science colleges from the districts of Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Namakkal and Erode participated in the day long event.
