Inspector’s house burgled

Unidentified men burgled the house of an Inspector of Police at the police quarters at Shevvapet in the city on Sunday afternoon and decamped with over 80 sovereign gold jewellery.

According to police, Kabilan, Inspector of Police, who was till recently serving in Salem, is at present working in Tiruchi. His family members, who were residing in the police quarters at Shevvapet, had left for Chennai recently.

Mr. Kabilan, who arrived here from Tiruchi on Sunday, found the lock of the house broken open and the valuables missing.

Case registered

The police have registered a case in this connection and are on the look for the unidentified men.
