Inquiry on into complaints of threats

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - Tirupur:

The city police on Tuesday are conducting inquiry into the threat letters received by three Tirupur-based members of as many Hindu outfits.

The three men who received the threat letters were Kishore Kumar, a state executive committee member of Hindu Munnani; G. Natchimuthu, zonal secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishad for Tirupur, Erode and Namakkal districts; and Gopinath of Hindu Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam.

Anonymous letters

All of them received the hand-written anonymous letters through post.

Both Mr. Natchimuthu and Mr. Kishore Kumar told The Hindu that the seal holding the place of posting the letter was not clear.

The contents were identical with death threats given to the recipients.
