Death put an end to the misery of a wild elephant in the Sigur Reserve Forest near here on Thursday. According to forest officials the tusker aged between 12 and 15 years was in agony due to an injury on its right foreleg caused by a snare made with a metal wire.
Efforts in vain
The limping animal was spotted at Athimund Shola on Wednesday. The wound was estimated to be about sixty days old. Though efforts were made to treat the animal it died.
