Inflow to Mettur Dam increases

The inflow to Stanley Reservoir in Mettur has increased from 13,326 cusecs at 8 a.m. to 17,000 cusecs at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Public Works Department officials said that since the discharge from dams in Karnataka were increased, the inflow to Mettur Dam has also increased.

At 8 a.m. on Saturday, the water level stood at 75.68 feet as against its full reservoir level of 120 feet, while the storage was 37.787 tmcft against the dam’s capacity of 93.470 tmcft.

About 1,000 cusecs of water was discharged for drinking water purpose. Officials said that the level of dam has gone up by one foot in a day.
