Pramod Kumar, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Armed Police, Tamil Nadu, has filed an anticipatory bail application in the Madras High Court in a case being investigated by CBI against police officers for allegedly having received money from a firm, Paazee Forex. The firm, it is alleged, collected huge sums as deposit from various persons and defaulted in repayment.

The petitioner submitted the main person involved in this case or the firm's directors had not, in their statements, said that he demanded money, or money was given to him, or to someone on his behalf, when he was IGP, West Zone. This would show that he did not have any link with the directors.

When the petition came up before Justice M.M. Sundresh, Special Public Prosecutor for CBI, N. Chandrasekharan, took notice.
