Hindu Makkal Katchi district vice-president Selva Murugan was arrested in connection with the murder of his uncle K. Arumugam (60) of Thevar Azhagarpatti near Narasingapuram on Monday.

Arumugam, who did not have children, was financially helping Selva Murugan, who was taking care of him.

When Selva Murugan demanded more and more money, Arumugam denied him any money.

In a fit of anger, Selva Murugan stabbed his uncle with a lethal weapon on his head, chest, neck, cheek and other parts of the body.

Police rushed Arumugam to Dindigul Government Hospital. But he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

After preliminary investigation, the police found that it was the fourth attack launched by Selva Murugan on Arumugam.
