The Higher Education Minister and the Higher Education Secretary should resign over the revaluation scam at Anna University, PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss demanded here on Saturday.

Speaking on the sidelines of a party conference, Dr. Ramadoss said the scam was also a wake-up call for the Governor, who was the Chancellor of State universities.

“Instead of holding review meetings, which is not his job, the Governor [Banwarilal Purohit] should supervise the management of universities which are under his control,” he said.

According to him, the pass percentage at Anna University had witnessed a jump over the last seven years, and the scam had been going on for close to a decade.

‘Probe private colleges’

On the Centre's proposal to create quotas for SCs and STs in promotions, the PMK leader said it was a welcome move, and called for instituting a similar quota for OBCs too, as they were also historically disadvantaged.

Earlier, Dr. Ramadoss demanded a separate investigation into the role of private engineering colleges in the revaluation scam.
