Good response to food fest

January 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - TUTICORIN:

The three-day traditional food festival, which concluded here on Sunday evening, was a success, according to Collector M. Ravikumar.

The festival was organised under the aegis of the Integrated Child Development Scheme.

After a huge gathering at silver jubilee programme in 2012, when bifurcation of Tuticorin from Tirunelveli, was celebrated at the Pearl City beach here, a similar congregation of people was witnessed at the same venue.

With the food festival showcasing multi cuisine and dishes from a variety of ethnic restaurants at one portion, the beach offered a variety of entertainment for the visitors, he said here on Monday.

Citing the food festival has earned a good response from people of Tuticorin, the Collector said a two-day food festival would be hosted by the district administration in Kovilpatti from Tamil New year.
