Gold worth ₹1.15 crore seized at Chennai airport

A total of 3.5 kg of gold, worth ₹1.15 crore, was seized at Chennai airport, according to a press release.

On Thursday, 909 grams of gold worth ₹30 lakhs was recovered from two passengers arriving from Colombo and one from Dubai. The previous day, 1.26 kg of gold worth ₹39.15 lakh was seized from a Ethiopian national bound for Nairobi via Sharjah.

On the same night, 483 grams worth ₹16 lakh was seized from three others also from Colombo.

After a few more seizures on the same day, a total of 3.5 kg of gold was seized. Investigations are on.
