Suththamalli police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl from the same area.
Police said the victim, studying standard III, had come to her grandmother’s house here for ‘pongal’ holidays as her mother had married another person after her father passed away a couple of years ago.
The accused S. Authimoolam (38) of Thiruppanikarisalkulam, who lured the girl with sweets, allegedly sexually assaulted her on Saturday.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s grandmother, the Suththamalli police arrested Authimoolam.
