Rubiya Begum of Denkanikottai Government Girls Higher Secondary School has secured State I in Geography by scoring 198 marks.

For Rubiya, it could just be the beginning of a dream, but not one that could be attained without support. Rubiya lost her father when she was young and her mother Gulshan ekes out a living doing odd jobs. Rubiya and all other girls of Denkanikottai Government Girls Higher Secondary School owe their education to a community trust that funds teachers in the school.

With a State first in a main subject like Geography and a total score of 1090 marks, Rubiya’s dream of earning a graduation and becoming a teacher hinges entirely on financial support from the Trust.
