Gang abducts man, robs him of Rs. 21 lakh

Pudhukkadai police are on the lookout for a four-member gang which allegedly abducted a man and forcibly took Rs. 21 lakh from him at knifepoint on Sunday.

The police said that V. Syed Ali (35) of Palayamkottai, working in a private finance firm there, had come here by bus carrying Rs. 31 lakh.

After reportedly handing over Rs. 10 lakh to one Rajan here, he headed for Pudhukkadai on a bike to hand over the remaining Rs. 21 lakh to a woman, Rajeshwari.

The gang which came in a car intercepted him and abducted him in their vehicle.

After relieving him of the money, the gang members dropped him at Kollencode.

Based on a complaint from him, Pudhukkadai police are investigating.
