Further drop in inflow into Mettur Dam

There is further drop in the inflow of water into Mettur Dam on Thursday.

The dam received 19,111 cusecs of water on Wednesday, and the inflow dropped to 13,031 cusecs on Thursday evening.

The water level in the dam stood at 70.63 feet on Thursday against its full level of 120 feet.

Storage level

The storage level stood at 33.244 tmc against the dam’s full capacity of 93.47 tmc.

About 10,000 cusecs of water is being released from the dam for the Samba crop cultivation activities in the Cauvery delta districts and another 600 cusecs for the farm activities under East-West canal system in Salem, Erode and Namakkal districts, Public Works Department sources said.
