A sum of Rs. 5 lakh has been allotted by the State government to Chettikuppam village panchayat in Gudiyatham in order to implement new drinking water schemes to mitigate water scarcity in the area, according to School Education Minister K.C. Veeramani. The panchayat union falls under K.V. Kuppam Assembly Constituency.
Mr. Veeramani was distributing free mixies, grinders and fans to 908 beneficiaries in Chettikuppam panchayat on Friday.
R. Nanthagopal, Collector of Vellore, presided. B. Senguttuvan, Vellore MP; C.K. Thamizharasan, K.V. Kuppam MLA; K. Lingamuthu, Gudiyatham MLA; N.G. Parthiban, Director of Vellore District Central Cooperative Bank; and Jothi, Tahsildar, Gudiyatham, participated.
