Fresh case filed against Natarajan

Judicial Magistrate Court II remanded him to 15 days' custody

The police here registered a fresh case of land grabbing against M. Natarajan, husband of Sasikala, and two others on Wednesday.

The case was registered following a complaint from Lily Angel that Mr. Natarajan and his relatives Ilavazhagan and Shankar forced them to sell land worth Rs.1.25 crore for Rs.20 lakh.

Shankar, who was arrested in this connection on Wednesday was produced before Judicial Magistrate court II and remanded to custody.

Mr. Natarajan, who was lodged in Tiruchi Central Prison in connection with another land grab case, was brought to JM Court II in the evening. The Magistrate remanded him to 15 days' custody.

Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Natarajan said he had nothing to do with the land in question. Later, he was taken to Tiruchi Central Prison.

Bail plea dismissed

Staff Reporter from Tiruchi writes:

Judicial Magistrate Court IV here on Wednesday dismissed the bail application of Mr. Natarajan, who was arrested in a cheating case in Tiruchi a few days ago.

Magistrate Pushparani also dismissed a petition filed by the City Crime Branch (CCB) seeking police custody of Mr. Natarajan to enquire him in connection with the case.

Mr. Natarajan, who is in judicial custody and lodged in the Central Prison, was brought to the court amid police escort as the CCB had filed a petition seeking three days police custody.

After hearing the arguments of both sides, the Magistrate pronounced the order in the evening dismissing the bail application of Natarajan as well as the petition seeking police custody. Following this, he was taken back to the Central Prison. Mr. Natarajan had filed the bail application on March 5.

Cheating case

The CCB had registered the cheating case against Natarajan and six others recently on a complaint preferred by Varadharajan, a city-based realtor, under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) 147 (rioting) 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy) 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (i) (criminal intimidation).
