People from Kayalpatnam thronged the Collectorate here on Monday seeking the intervention of the district administration to provide them free house site pattas.
People under the banner ‘Jananayaga Makkal Eluchi Kazhagam’ turned up with this demand and submitted a petition to Collector M. Ravikumar. It was led by Kayal Abbas, founder of the kazhagam.
In the petition, they claimed that around 50 families had been living in rented houses for over 15 years at Kayalpatnam. Considering their family background and economic conditions, authorities should extend free house site pattas, they appealed.
