Four of family injured as car falls into gorge

Four persons were injured when a car fell into a 50-foot-deep gorge near Shenbaganur on Tuesday. Seriously injured Soundararajan (37) of Shengabanur was referred to Madurai Government Rajaji Hospital.

His wife and two children were being treated at Kodaikanal Government Hospital.

The police said that Soundararajan was going home from Kodaikanal in his car.

On seeing an Indian Gaur in the middle of the ghat road, he pulled the brakes to stop the car.

The vehicle lost control, skidded off the road and nosedived into the gorge on the roadside.

Local people rescued the injured and sent them to Kodaikanal GH.
