The Forest Department personnel arrested four persons on the charge of attempting to hunt wild animals and seized two unlicensed country guns from them recently.
On a tip off, the personnel conducted surprise check in the Bommidi Yerimalai reserve forest area, when they spotted four persons roaming deep inside the forests. They rounded up all the four who were identified as L. Lakshman (32), M. Sundaram (25), P. Rathinavelu (30), all of Veerachiyur and S. Venkatesh (30) of K. N. Pudur. They were found in possession of two unlicensed guns, which were seized by the forest men. All the four were arrested and handed over to the Omalur police. They were produced in court and remanded in police custody.
