Immanuvel (32) of South Africa, who had completed his degree at a private college here and was residing at a room in Paramathi Velur, died on the spot after being hit by an unidentified vehicle here on Monday.
The police said that Immanuvel along with his friend Liviko Alexander (22) was returning from Salem at 6.30 a.m. While nearing Sellappampatti on the Salem – Namakkal National Highway, an unidentified vehicle hit their two-wheeler and fled. Immanuvel suffered head injuries and died on the spot while Liviko Alexander was admitted to a private hospital in Namakkal. The body has been kept at the Government District Headquarters Hospital and his family informed.
