Skilled workforce is the need of the hour for the industrial sector to flourish, which in turn will lead to the overall development of the country.
With the objective of producing skilled manpower, the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation is imparting skill development training programmes for the unemployed youths in different trades across the State. The objective of such programmes is to provide needed skill based training to ensure a steady flow of skilled manpower in different trades.
The Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation has joined hands with the Police Department on imparting specialised free training to the unemployed youths aspiring jobs of security personnel in the private concerns.
As such, the Salem District Police is imparting a three-week-long training to a group of 137 unemployed youths, including five women, who were looking out for jobs as security personnel.
The trainees are in the age group of 18 – 45 years and have cleared class VIII.
G. Subbulakshmi, Superintendent of Police, has evinced interest in proper training for the youths, so that they can develop their skills and equip themselves to meet the conditions of the trade and industry.
Without just winding up the training programme, the SP has taken steps for holding a job fair at the valediction of the training on May 21. Many major concerns have come forward to attend the job fair and recruit the eligible candidates, said a senior police official.
The recruitment process will instil confidence in the minds of the youths, he added.
