The body of D. Sridhar of Kancheepuram, a proclaimed offender, was brought to the country from Cambodia and handed over to his family after the post-mortem at the Chengalpattu Medical College hospital on Monday. According to the police, information about the death of the fugitive reached the Kancheepuram district police on October 4 and the body was brought back by his family on October 15 following a court direction.
The coffin containing the body was taken directly to the Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital, from the Meenambakkam airport on October 15 night.
The body was handed over to his family around 2 p.m. and it was taken to Kancheepuram, where his last rites were peformed.
