Ex-SC judge to head reconstituted law panel

Tamil Nadu has reconstituted the State Law Commission with retired Supreme Court judge Chockalingam Nagappan as its Chairman. The tenure of the last Law Commission ended on February 9. In the reconstituted State Law Commission, A retired High Court judge and a retired Law Secretary to Government would be two full-time members, retired district judges would be constitute two part-time members and the Law Secretary would be the full-time Member Secretary. The Commission would have a tenure of three years from the date of assumption of charge by the Chairman, according to the Government Order.
