Elangovan hopes Karnataka will take a “good decision”

May 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:08 am IST - TUTICORIN:

It was not necessary to insist on the Karnataka government to appeal against the High Court’s verdict in the disproportionate assets case against AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa as the Special Public Prosecutor, B. V. Acharya, had already favoured an appeal, said TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, he expressed the hope that Karnataka would take a “good decision” to file an appeal. Law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was at its worst and there was no development since the AIADMK returned to power.

Alleging “corrupt bureaucratic system,” he said many government officials were working under threat or pressure exerted by the ruling partymen.

If action was not taken by the Governor on the list of “corrupt Ministers” submitted by the TNCC, he said that the scam involving each Minister mentioned in the list would be revealed through the media.

Earlier, a special post cover on former Congress MP K.T. Kosalram was released by Post Master General, Southern Region, J. Charukesi in commemoration of his centenary celebrations. It was received by Mr. Elangovan.
