Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president E.V.K.S. Elangovan has advised Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to take rest and make O. Panneerselvam the Chief Minister, keeping in mind the interest and welfare of the people of the State.

Speaking to reporters before addressing party workers here on Friday, he said that he was concerned about her health condition and there was nothing more to it. “I am saying this with all sincerity,” he said.

At the same time, the administration was completely paralysed in the State. Mr. Paneerselvam should be allowed to act as Chief Minister with full powers to provide good governance. She can take rest until she becomes completely fit, he added.

Reacting to defamation suits filed against him, he said that he was ready to face any number of cases.Visit of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to Tamil Nadu would bring a massive change and the next assembly poll would be favourable to Congress, he said.
