e-Kamarajar App for primary schoolchildren

Tamil Maanila Congress leader G.K. Vasan on Tuesday launched e-Kamarajar App, a learning application for primary schoolchildren.

Describing the endeavour as the “holy cause,” Mr. Vasan said the application would be available free and more contents would be added besides expanding the means for its delivery to the target unit of children in the three to 10 years age group. The App has fundamental mathematics, English and Tamil lessons that covered the ‘Samacheer Kalvi’ syllabus for primary education. In addition, it contains brain gym, virtues and rhymes to help the children in their early stage of development.

Noting that former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj was intent on universal free primary education as a means of social uplift constructing more than 15,000 schools across the State, besides launching the noon meal scheme during his stewardship, Mr. Vasan said that his party was following in the footsteps of the great leader and treated the e-Kamarajar App venture as the holy cause aimed at next generation.

Claiming that the venture would take education to every household, Mr. Vasan said that a team of experts worked tirelessly to create the educational aide that could be downloaded and used by anyone free of cost. That would spread far and wide Kamarajar's mission of education for all. He added that the team was working on various modes of communication dissemination media for wider reach.

The aim was to bridge the gap in education affordability, improve primary school completion rates and to provide free accessibility to latest educational contents and learning methods to every public school and student, he said.
