Dubai-bound man held in Chennai with Saudi currency worth ₹1.48 crore

A 38-year-old Dubai-bound passenger was detained by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Chennai on Sunday for allegedly possessing undeclared Saudi Arabian currency valued at ₹1.48 crore, police said.

DRI officials detained the man, a resident of Chennai, based on a tip-off, they said.

He was found carrying the Saudi Riyal in his briefcase, police added.
