DSP’s suicide note goes viral on social media

Two weeks after the ‘suicide’ of Tiruchengode Division, Deputy Superintendent of Police, R. Vishnupriya, a two-page suicide note said to be written by her on July 15, has gone viral on the social media.

The suicide note claims that it was purportedly written by Vishnupriya and was part of the note recovered by the police. However, there was no official confirmation about its authenticity.

Though the note claims that the video (stored in the tablet/computer used by the victim) would reveal the exact reason for the suicide , the authenticity is yet to be verified. Also, a question arises about how a note that was missing since September 18, has suddenly surfaced now.

The note said that the video is in the tablet computer (its password has been disclosed in the note). The note went on to say that ‘All your doubts regarding my death will be cleared in the video’ with her final words — ‘Its time to leave. Good bye to all of you. I Quit’.

After her death, the police recovered a seven-page suicide note written on July 15 and a two-page suicide note written on September 18. But, her father M. Ravi claimed that many pages are missing.

However, the two-page note is part of the seven-page note, which was handed over to the CB-CID.

Sources said her mobile phone, laptop and tablet computer were handed over to the cyber crime for analysis. ‘If the footage is present as stated, it could be a strong evidence and help to make a breakthrough in the case’, the source added.

The DSP was investigating two murder cases. One was of V. Gokulraj that took place on June 24 and the other was of S. Jeganathan (61), an industrialist in Pallipalayam, that took place on August 7.

Also, she had acted quickly to nab the accused in a robbery case (Rs. 12.23 lakh was stolen from a private bank ATM) in Tiruchengode, within 24 hours.
