Drive to raise voter awareness

January 22, 2019 11:25 pm | Updated 11:28 pm IST - VELLORE

A voter awareness campaign, highlighting the need for all eligible voters to cast their voters, was launched by District Collector K.S. Kandasamy here on Tuesday.

He handed over badges to Swachh workers — numbering around 3,200 — that said: “No voter should be left out. I am proud to be a voter and ready to vote”. The workers will undertake door-to-door campaigning, while also taking up solid waste management work. Mr. Kandasamy said the campaigns were being conducted as part of the National Voters’ Day observed on Friday. They are aimed at ensuring maximum participation of electors in the voting process. District Revenue Officer P. Rathinasamy, Project Officer, DRDA, P. Jayasudha and Assistant Collector (Training) M. Pratap participated.
