Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Pon. Radhakrishnan alleged that the Dravidian parties were trying to adopt the ‘Thirumangalam formula’ to win the by-election to the Srirangam constituency.

Talking to mediapersons during his visit to Batlagundu to take part in a party workers’ meeting here on Saturday, he said that the money earned by both the AIADMK and the DMK through wrong ways was being spent in wrong ways, luring people to choose the wrong path.

The Dravidian parties only invoke the Tamil identity to garner votes but there is no development or growth in the State.

Tamil Nadu lags behind Kerala and Karanataka in education, economy, industrial development and agriculture.

The BJP’s campaign will be based on the achievements and good work done by the Central government.

On opposition to the neutrino project in Theni district, Mr. Radhakrishnan said political leaders were protesting against the project blindly. The Tamils should welcome new projects that are beneficial to the people. Only a positive approach will take the State on the path of growth, he said.

To a claim made by DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran that an RSS person from Tamil Nadu was influencing the CBI to fix him in the illegal telephone exchange case, the Union Minister said that persons involved in corruption were trying to escape by pointing fingers at the RSS. “It will not happen,” he said.
