Dog show draws huge crowd in Kodaikanal

The tourists were enthralled as dogs of major breeds pranced alongside their owners in the all-breed dog show held at Bryant Park in the hill station here on Wednesday.

Dog’s brisk movement, swift action and timely reactions entertained the visitors at the park.

Earlier, the dogs were divided in to eight groups and various competitions were conducted to test their agility, obedience, understanding capabilities and response to the commands of their trainers or owners. The dogs were judged on how well they qualified to the standards of their breed.

Spectators also cheered as the owners trained their pets outside the venue for the next round of competitions.

Lots of excellent dogs participated in the dog show this year, said park officials.

A total of 64 dogs took part in the show.

Palani MLA K.S.N. Venugopalu distributed prizes to the owners of the dogs that performed well.

Dog owners from different parts of the State had brought their pets for the show.
