The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is all set to win the by-election to the Sankarankoil Assembly seat and there are enough indications of this from the people, M.K. Stalin, treasurer of the party, claimed here on Monday.
Talking to reporters at Mettuppalayam after interviewing candidates for the posts of office-bearers for the youth wing of the party, Mr. Stalin said that people were unhappy with the eight-month rule of the AIADMK, as the State was reeling under “unprecedented and prolonged power cuts”.
People were upset over the increase in the price of essential commodities, deteriorating law and order and rising crime rate.
