DMK MLA hails HC verdict; says time to return to AIADMK

May 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - TUTICORIN:

Hailing the verdict of Karnataka High Court acquitting AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa in the disproportionate assets case, Anitha R. Radhakrishnan, DMK MLA from Tiruchendur, has expressed a wish to meet the former Chief Minister. The dejected MLA, who is in Chennai now, said that he was not happy with the DMK.

Speaking to The Hindu over phone on Tuesday, Mr. Radhakrishnan said that he was bogged down by infighting in the DMK and the time was ripe for return to the AIADMK. It would not be inappropriate to return to his parent party, which gave him an identity, and work for people’s welfare. He felt that it was wrong on his part to have left the AIADMK in 2009.

“There is no cooperation from the DMK cadres, especially from the party’s district secretary, N. Periyasamy. I am looked at as an enemy by the district secretary,” he said.
