Protest by the differently-abled
District level sports meet organised here for differently abled ended up in chaos on Tuesday as those with arm disability and leg disability were asked to participate in running race as a single group.
Participants protested against the idea and asked for a separate race for those with disability in arm and leg. However as Sports Development Authority officials could not immediately alter the game schedule prepared by the state. The disabled persons said they would continue the protest against the programme if they did not amend it immediately. As a result the event was suspended. – Staff Reporter
