The gender wise performance of government schools in 2015 witnessed girls excelling over boys
Girls had registered a higher pass percentage of 91.08 per cent in comparison to the 87.49 per cent pass percentage registered by boys.
The gender wise pass percentage hovered around the same figures as that of last year’s pass percentage of 91.35 percent registered by girls, and 88.2 percentage registered by boys.
Student strength
While 21 government schools recorded a hundred per cent pass percentage, there were several others government schools that had produced good results with the given strength of students that had taken the exams.
Avvaiyar Government Girls Higher Secondary School with strength of 696 students had registered a 92.53 percent pass percentage. Similarly, the Government Higher Secondary, Krishnapuram in Dharmapuri achieved 97.94 percent with its student strength of 339 students.
The other figures include: 19 schools with over 95 percent pass percentage; 27 schools with pass percent of 90 percent to 95 percent; 29 schools with over 80 percent; 8 schools with over 70 percent results.
Significantly, most of the schools lying on the 80 percent band have had student strength of over 250.
