Development works reviewed

October 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:39 am IST - Tirupur:

Direct reception and dispatch of goods for the entire rake of 24 coaches will soon be possible at Tirupur railway station once the goods shed development works gets completed, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ravi Sinha said.

He said that a lift would be soon provided at each end of the elevated pedestrian crossing in the station.

Studies were being conducted to assess the needs for extra ticket counters in the station, he said. “At present, the two ticket counters and the automatic ticket vending machines look enough to handle the volume of passengers in Tirupur railway station,” he said.

Mr. Sinha along with students and members of other organisations, carried out a campaign on the need to keep the railway station clean.
