The Tamil Nadu Makkal Jananayaga Katchi has urged the Corporation to depute adequate number of sanitary workers for clearing the garbage generated in and around Palayamkottai market area.

In the petition submitted to Mayor E. Bhuvaneshwari on Tuesday, TMJK’s Palayamkottai area secretary K. Rafiq said the irregular cleaning of garbage in Palayamkottai market had resulted in the overflowing of waste from dumper bins kept at the southern entrance of the market for the past several weeks. As the stray cattle would surround these garbage bins and feed on the waste, the uncared domestic animals cause traffic snarl and accidents at this point.

“Besides causing stagnation of water around the bins, the unbearable stench emanating from the decaying waste creates untold trouble to the traders having their shops nearby and the public crossing this point,” he said.

Clean the garbage

Hence, the Corporation should depute adequate number of sanitary workers for Palayamkottai market area to clean up the garbage being generated everyday at this busy point, Mr. Rafiq also said.
