A deer which accidentally fell into a farm well near Thoppur in Dharmapuri district was successfully rescued on Friday.

Palani, a farmer of Uthupallam village, was watering his fields on Friday, when he spotted the deer struggling for life in the well. He immediately alerted the forest personnel.

Meanwhile, the local people gathered at the spot in good number and managed to retrieve the animal from the well.

Later, it was handed over to the forest personnel.

As the deer did not suffer any injury, it was later let into the Thoppur reserve forests.
