The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court will decide on a criminal defamation complaint of a political forum against Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal on April 4. Last month, G.K. Moopanar Peravai, represented by its president L.K. Venkat, presented the defamation complaint seeking to punish Mr. Kejriwal for allegedly defaming Union Shipping Minister G.K. Vasan.

According to the complainant, Mr. Kejriwal on January 31 dubbed 25 influential politicians “corrupt” and stated that his party would field its candidates against them.

The complainant said Mr.Vasan was among those named by Mr. Kejriwal. On Friday, the CMM, M. Gopalan, recorded the statement of the complainant and adjourned the matter to April 4.
