The district-level cultural competitions for panchayat-level self help group federations were conducted here on Tuesday as part of pongal celebrations.
After V. Jayakumar, Project Officer (Mahalir Thittam), inaugurated the events, members of various SHG federations exhibited their skills in rangoli, group singing, skit, ‘pattimantram’, 100-metre race, throw ball, slow cycle race and tennikoit.
District Collector M. Karunakaran gave away the prizes to winners of each event in the valediction held in the evening.
