CPI(M) going all out to make a splash in Telangana

January 14, 2015 12:00 am | Updated November 28, 2021 08:50 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The CPI(M) is making massive arrangements for the success of its first State conference in Telangana here from February 26 to March 1.

The Telangana committee of the party has planned a demonstration with 50,000 volunteers and a huge public meeting as part of the conference. Before that, the party hoped to visit the doors of ten lakh families in the State capital seeking their support for the event. About 3,000 volunteers who will be divided into 1,000 squads will be involved in the door-to-door campaign from January 25 to February 10, according to committee secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram.

At a meeting with editors of the print and electronic media on Tuesday, Mr. Veerabhadram said the squads will camp in all but two of the 24 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy to explain to public the role the Left parties could play in the development of Telangana. He admitted that the party was handicapped in taking up the campaign in the Charminar and Bahadurpura Assembly segments due to organisational difficulties.

He also said the State conference will be followed by the national conference in Visakhapatnam from April 14 to 19.
