Police seized country-made bombs and petrol bombs stashed in a house in Ramanthurai, a coastal hamlet under Pudukkadai police limits, on Tuesday.

Police sources said that on the basis of an intelligence alert that a group was planning a revenge attack on another group following a clash that took place during Christmas rally, a special team conducted a surprise raid in a few residences of fishermen and seized 10 country-made bombs and 13 petrol-filled bombs concealed in a house.

In connection with this, Jerome of Ramanthurai was arrested.

Police pickets were posted in the village and patrolling has been intensified.

Pudukkadai police have registered a case. Further investigation is on.
