Three Corporation High Schools have registered centum in the SSLC public examinations. Of the a dozen Corporation schools, the Corporation High School, Ponnammapettai; Corporation High School, Kichipalayam and Corporation High School, Shevvapet secured the coveted cent per cent results.
While 36 appeared for the examinations from the Ponnammapettai school, 52 students of Kichipalayam school wrote the examinations and another 23 appeared from the Shevvapet school. The Corporation High School, Ponnammapettai, is achieving this feat for the third year in succession.
The dozen corporation schools registered 92.4 per cent results. Seven Corporation schools bagged a pass percentage between 90 and 100. They are: Girls HSS, Sahadevapuram (97.5 per cent); Girls HS, Ammapettai (96.5); Boys HSS, Pavadi (96.3); Girls HS, Pavadi (95.6); Corporation HS, Vaiyapuri street (95.46); Kamarajar Girls HSS, Manakkadu (94.38); Girls HSS, Guhai (92); Boys HSS, Ammapettai (83.42) and Boys HSS, Fort (73.08).
S. B. Karthika of Corporation Girls HSS, Gugai, aggregated 494 marks (Tamil 99, English 96, Maths 99, Science 100 and Social Science 100), to bag the top rank among the Corporation school students. Karthika opts for first group in Plus Two and her aim is clearing civil services examinations.
G. Janani of Sahadevapuram Girls HSS secured 490 marks to bag the second rank among the Corporation school students and S. Deepika of Gugai Girls HSS with 488 finished third.
Corporation source said that special classes were conducted for about an hour every day evening for the students appearing for the Plus Two and SSLC public examinations.
Moreover, the slow learners were identified in the initial period of the academic year itself and were imparted additional coaching apart from the special class.
